“ TACOGASM! Might be the best Mexican food in all of San Diego. I had the most amazing California burrito I have had in my entire adult Mexican eating life. The place is actually very small and although you can eat in it, I would suggest to take it to go and eat somewhere with a better atmosphere. But even though the place is small, the food makes up for everything. They have a very small but delicious menu which I really appreciate because it tells me they’ve only focus on making a select items that are Very freaking good. You can watch them make homemade tortillas right in front of you which explains why the food taste so good here. ”

Not a lot of seating inside but the serve-yourself salsa bar is awesome. Since it’s so popular, there’s a crowd even at 8pm so be prepared to wait a little. “ We were on a road trip today and went to The Taco Stand for the first time to pick up food to go. The service was great! Tania, the cashier woman helped me and she was attentive and kind! As I waited for our food I could see how the employees got along with each other and were working cohesively together. The food was scrumptious and the handmade churros were delicious! We'll definitely be going back, but to one closer to home, unless driving through San Diego again. Highly recommend ”
“ I am continuously impressed with this eatery and have been to four of the locations across the county; all awesome. You can just tell the food was prepared fresh. The quality of the protein blows me away, no grisly bits like Tacos El Gordo. Another amazing fact is that their beans DO NOT CONTAIN LARD-- unlike every other taco shop in the world. Most places will serve a vegetarian person a bean and cheese burrito with pork lard in it and not even say anything. You gotta try the Sonora Taco and the all burritos are amazing. Chips and guac are delightful. Salsa bar has a salsa for each spice preference level; the chunky habanero is the best! Limes always stocked, as well as pickled purple onions, pickled jalapeno, and pico de gallo. The salsa bar can start to look like a war zone at the end of the night but it's fine. They serve Mexican sodas like Jarritos, soda water, fountain drinks, and Corona, Modelo, and Pacifico beers. I saw they had some cute little house made Margaritas but nothing compares to the taco beer combo. The price point is really great too! Service is quick and friendly and I love seeing Mexican people making Mexican food with Mexican music! That's the secret sauce! Please get some more stools for the tiny seating area. ”
“ Unbelievably good street-style tacos! The meat (carne asada & al pastor) was perfectly seasoned and juicy, the corn tortillas fresh, and the salsas . Amazing value, quick service, and authentic vibes. Can't recommend enough! ”
“ Loved the food and the service! We went to one over in La Jolla the night before and loved the tacos! There was a LONG ling to get in, and a LONG line for the salsa bar, both signs that we were in for a treat. We were not disappointed and the food was great! They have an amazing salsa verde, and aslo amazing cilantro dressing. We also enjoyed a California Burrito as well as churros. We were in town on vacation, and flying out the next morning, but wanted more tacos, so we found this Taco Stand, and hit it the next morning right when they opened at 10 AM to get a taco breakfast before heading to the airport. We ordered 6 chicken tacos and one steak taco. After sitting down to wait for our food, they let us know that unfortunately they had run out of chicken the night before (Sunday), and new shipment hadn't come in yet. So they upgraded all of our chicken tacos to steak tacos as not additional charge. They also gave us chips an quacamole at no charge. They were super friendly and very accomodating. While my favorite is still the chicken tacos, the steak tacos as amazing as well. We had a great seat where we could watch them make the shells by scratch, and also make the tortilla chip as well. Highly recommend this place to others looking for great tacos/burritos. ”
“ Really great place with so many neighboring restaurants that are just as amazing! The only downfall about this little spit is parking. We parked down the block, but let me tell you, it was worth it! Their fish tacos and mar y tierra are amazing! ”
